Dell Latitude D630
Dell Latitude D630 is a Windows 7 Professional laptop with a 14.00-inch display that has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. it comes with 2GB of RAM. The Dell Latitude D630 packs 160GB of storage.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth and it comes with 2 USB ports, HDMI Port, Multi Card Slot, VGA Port, Mic In, RJ45 (LAN), RJ11 ports.
The Dell Latitude D630 is designed to deliver an outstanding mix of performance, graphics and mobility. This full-featured mainstream notebook enhances the previous-generation Latitude D620 with the latest Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors, your choice of Intel integrated graphics or NVIDIA® discrete graphics, and new levels of customisation. The fully configurable Latitude D630 can come pre-loaded with Microsoft® XP
On the inside where the D630 diverges from the D620. It’s powered by a Santa Rosa spec Intel Core 2 Duo T7300, which has a clock speed of 2.0GHz with 4MB L2 Cache and a 800MHz Front Side Bus. This is complemented by 2GB 667MHz DRR2 RAM, an 160 GB 7200rpm SATA hard drive, a DVD Re-writer and integrated X3100 graphics. This is all very good, and with this spec the D630 will make mincemeat of the usual office activities, providing plenty of scope for multiple applications and more demanding work too
The D630 isn’t excessively thick or heavy. Weighing 2.4kg with the primary battery, 2.6kg with the extended battery, and measuring 30.3mm thick may not make it an ultra-portable, but it’s still light enough to carried around without too much hassle. This helps make the D630 a really good all rounder, being both large enough to include a reasonably sized keyboard and light enough to be taken out of office.
One of the best features of the D630 is the combination of having both a touch point and a touch pad, and this remains a key feature . The touch point in particular is worthy of praise, being nicely proportioned, sensitive and accurate, while enabling you to control the cursor without moving your hands away from the keyboard.
Connection wise the D630 is well catered for. On the left edge you’ll find microphone and headphone jacks, a 4-pin FireWire port and a slider, which doubles as a wireless on/off switch and a Wi-Fi Catcher switch. Just below these is the slim Smart Card slot, while a little further on is a Type II PC Card slot. Also on the left edge is the obligatory security lock slot, but on the front there are no connections at all since the battery is situated toward the front.
The right edge is dominated by the optical drive; however there are two USB ports mounted horizontally one above the other. On the back there’s a further two USB ports mounted vertically, providing four overall. It’s a small point but a good one, enabling a USB keyboard and mouse to be connected, while providing two further USB devices to be connected without using a hub. Also on the back are modem and Gigabit Ethernet ports, and finally there’s the DC-in, a Serial port and a D-Sub port for connecting an external monitor. As ever there’s a docking port connection on the bottom of the D630, providing further connectivity options should you want them.

It has many innovations embedded in it like the HP Dura Case, which is a set of new exterior features including a brushed anodized-aluminum outer shell. Also the HP Quicklook software, with which you can quick access your e-mail, contacts, calendar etc .
With the option of enjoying movies and online entertainment, you’ll have no time for work with this HP EliteBook 6930p Core 2 Duo 14.1-inch Notebook!
Backed by an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26-2.4GHz Dual-Core processor and 2 GB of DDR2 memory, this portable EliteBook is equipped for work and play commands. The 250 GB hard drive provides plenty of room for multimedia files and applications.
Burn and play CDs and DVDs with the DVD±RW DL drive with LightScribe. All your video and images will look excellent on the 14.1-inch widescreen display. You can also upload and share the digital photos from your memory cards with the digital media card reader.
Design
Like a fresh job candidate in a sharp suit, HP’s new EliteBook gives a good first impression. With a shiny a magnesium alloy finish on the outside, its metallic sheen is faintly reminiscent of Apple’s MacBook line, but not quite as flashy. The use of metal on both the top cover and side the laptop also shows a strong build quality.
This impression continues once you open the laptop. The keyboard is comfortable and the keys are slightly rough, giving the impression that this is a rugged laptop. There is both a ‘nipple’ mouse and a trackpad, which features horizontal and vertical scrolling. The 6930p features a 14.1-inch 1280×800, matte display. Matte displays are always a plus, as they are not reflective and therefore much easier to see in bright light. Unfortunately, the display brightness on the 6930 darkens significantly, almost to the point of being unreadable, when the device is unplugged.
There seems to be no way to adjust this setting in Windows XP, so you will need to turn the screen brightness back up using the keyboard shortcut. At the base of the display there is an ambient light sensor, which is a great feature for power saving. But if you like your display bright, you can also disable it via a keyboard shortcut.
Below the display is a set of touch controls that allow you to disable Wi-Fi, mute or change the sounds volume, change presentation setting and access HP’s software “Info Centre”.
At 2.1kgs the EliteBook 6930p is a mid-weight laptop, you won’t find it difficult to haul it around.

This is a rectangular, black box, which still manages to look clean-cut and modern, despite its boxy bearing. It has a conventional design, with a flat rectangular lid to the flatbed scanner The whole scanner section hinges up for easier access to the top cover of the printer section, which lifts for access to the one-piece drum and toner cartridge.
At the front, to the right of the output tray, a neat, flat control panel folds up. This has a rather haphazard arrangement of buttons and indicators, though the power button is, smartphone style, located on the right-hand edge. The Copy button, in particular, is rather small, though its icon is colored green for identification.
There’s a 2-line, 16-character mono LCD on the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw, which isn’t always easy to read, because it doesn’t have a backlight. The paper feed tray is a clip-on attachment, which sticks out quite a way from the front of the printer and the output tray folds and telescopes out above, by about the same amount.
